Devices
The Devices page gives you the ability to create and manage API keys for devices, such as a Connector. This is also where you add DICOM peers to view or import data from Flywheel to another DICOM imaging archive or viewer.
Device Settings
The device settings tab is where you add new devices to connect to Flywheel. If you have a Connector configured, you will see it listed here.
Permissions for Added Devices
Device API keys have site-admin level access to all groups and projects. These devices can create, modify, and delete data throughout your Flywheel instance.
Data Provenance Considerations
Data imported or modified using a device key will have a recorded origin of "Device." Therefore, no user ID will be associated with these actions.
Care should be taken in how device keys are used when end-to-end provenance is important to a given project.

DICOM Peers
The DICOM Peers tab only appears if you have the DIMSE service enabled for your site. To enable this service, contact Flywheel support.
Here you can register, view, or edit DICOM peers. A DICOM peer is another DICOM imaging archive or viewer that is connected to Flywheel via DICOM Message Service Element (DIMSE).
Once an association between the two entities has been established, external systems can view information about DICOM images and retrieve the images themselves from Flywheel.
The Flywheel DIMSE Service conforms to the DICOM standard to allow the sharing of medical information with other digital imaging systems.
Learn more about how to register a new peer or see our DICOM conformance statement for more details on system requirements.
