DICOM Web Upload
Flywheel provides the ability to upload DICOM data using the web application. This feature is ideal for a uploading small number of sessions and a relatively small file size. Contact Flywheel if you experience performance issues when uploading data.
Some browsers support dropping an entire folder, while others support dropping files only. Also due to various browser abilities/limitations, upload no more than 10,000 DICOM files OR 200 MB at a time. Flywheel recommends using the latest version of Chrome.
To use the DICOM Web Uploader: To upload DICOM data using the DICOM Web Uploader, navigate to the Upload page, found in the Data section of the blue Flywheel sidebar on the left side of the page. Complete the following steps:
Step 1: Select the Project to which you want to upload data. Read/Write or Admin permission for this Project is required and only Projects you have permission to access will appear in the drop-down menu.
Step 2: Drag and drop the files you are uploading to the drop target or click anywhere on the drop target to launch the file selector.
Step 3: The Uploader will immediately begin parsing and organizing your Files into Sessions. Properly uploaded files will be displayed and grouped by Acquisition. Non-DICOM files and other files not loaded correctly will have an error message. Users will need to verify that the information is correct and will have the option to edit the Session Label and Subject ID before completing the upload.
Step 4: You may choose to anonymize your data by checking the box above the Upload Data button. Checking the box will remove the PatientID, PatientName, and PatientBirthDate from the DICOM header.
Age will be loaded by months.
Step 5: Click the Upload Data button to complete your upload. The progress indicator will let you know when the upload is complete.
The duration of the upload will vary depending on the file size and connection speed between the workstation and the Flywheel instance.
