Site Admins are responsible for creating Groups. A Group will need to be created before any projects can be created under it. Although Site Admins are required to create Groups, Group Admins can manage Group information and permissions.
Users can find all of the following Group Management activities by navigating to the Groups page, found under Admin on the blue Flywheel sidebar on the left of the screen.
Create New Group: To create a new Group, navigate to the Groups page. Find the Create New Group button on the right side of the page and enter a Group name and Group ID, then click the Create button. The Group ID is a short code entered at the scanner console or other device when data is sent to Flywheel. It may include lowercase letters, numbers, dashes, and underscores, it simply must be unique.
Note: You cannot change the Group ID later, so make it simple enough for your users to remember. You may want to make it the same as your Group name.
Editing Group Information: Select a Group from the list and go to the Information tab on the right to edit the Group name and view all of the Projects associated with that Group.
Editing Group Permissions: Select a Group from the list and go to the Permissions tab on the right. To add permissions for an existing user, select the user from the drop-down menu, select a permission level, then click Add. To edit permissions for an existing user, select the Pencil button next to the user's name and email address, then use the drop-down menu to change the permissions, then click Save. To remove permissions for an existing user, select the Pencil button next to the user's name and email address, then select the trash icon.
Note: Adding a new user or making changes to Group permissions will not apply those changes to all the Projects within that Group retroactively. So when creating new Projects, the current state of Group permissions holds precedent.
Editing Group Tags: Select a Group from the list and go to the Tags tab on the right to create new tags and edit existing tag names.
