From the Roles page, site admins can create custom roles and apply them to groups. Once applied to a group, project or group admins can assign these roles to users. All custom roles are applied at the project level and work with the site and group roles for role-based access to Flywheel data.
Select an existing role from the dropdown menu or click Create a new role.Editing an existing role updates the role for any user who is currently assigned that role.
Choose the groups. Only groups added to this list will see the custom role as an option.
Enable or disable permissions for the role. See our article on custom roles for more information about considerations when assigning permissions.
Some permissions are required so that you cannot accidentally create a role that does not allow a user to interact with Flywheel. Those permissions are still listed on the roles page for reference.
Click Save Role. Your new custom role is now available in the projects within the selected groups. If any users are currently assigned that role, their permissions are immediately updated
