Completing Tasks

Overview

Completing a task creates a permanent, immutable record consisting of the form answers and the annotations submitted with the task. All required form fields must be filled out, and all fields must pass validation (if applicable) in order to complete a task. In validated instances, an e-signature may be required in the form of multi-factor authentication to ensure regulatory compliance. Additionally, record creation is logged in the audit trail.

Warning

Once a task is completed, it can no longer be modified.

Completing a task

Note

Only the task assignee is able to complete a task.

  1. Fill out all required questions in the form.
  2. Make sure all fields pass validation (e.g. free-text fields may be restricted to specific values).
  3. Click on Submit at the bottom of the form panel.
  4. If required, provide a reason and an e-signature by completing multiple factor authentication. Otherwise, simply confirm that you'd like to complete the task.

Upon completing a task, the viewer switches to read-only mode:

  • The task status switches to "Completed"
  • Form answers can no longer be edited.
  • Annotations can no longer be edited.
  • Users can no longer save a draft.

E-signature

If the task protocol is configured to require an e-signature, you need to provide a reason for completion and authenticate through multi-factor authentication. This requires to have multi-factor authentication setup in your user profile (see how to setup MFA here). If you have not setup MFA, a warning is shown in the viewer and you will not be able to complete the task.

e-signature required

To complete a task that requires an e-signature:

  1. Click on Submit at the bottom of the form panel after all form validation have passed.
  2. Select a reason for completion from the dropdown list.
  3. Enter the authentication code provided to you according to your user profile MFA setup.
  4. If needed, click "Resend code" to obtain a new authentication code.
